Image to PNG Converter — Free, Lossless, No Upload

Open the converter

This image to PNG converter produces lossless PNG copies of JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and HEIC files, fully in your browser. PNG preserves transparency, every pixel, and every color exactly — no compression artifacts.

PNG is the format of choice when you need exact pixels. Screenshots, design assets, UI mockups, logos with transparent backgrounds, and any image that will be re-edited later all benefit from PNG. Unlike JPG, PNG never adds compression artifacts; unlike WebP, PNG is supported by every tool ever made.

The converter decodes your source image into the browser canvas and writes out a PNG, preserving alpha channels where the source has them. WebP and GIF with transparency keep their see-through pixels. JPG (which has no alpha) converts to an opaque PNG of identical size and color.

Expect PNG output to be 2–4x larger than the source JPG, because PNG is lossless and JPG is not. For web use where size matters, consider WebP instead. For everything else, PNG is the safe, universal answer.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The entire pipeline runs in your browser. Your images never leave the device.

Does PNG conversion lose quality?

No. PNG is mathematically lossless. The output pixels exactly match the decoded input pixels.

Will transparency be preserved?

Yes, for sources that support it (WebP, GIF, HEIC). JPG inputs are opaque to begin with, so the PNG output is also opaque.

What is the file size limit?

25MB per input file. Output PNGs can be larger than that — only the input is capped.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Multi-file batches are returned as a single ZIP download.
