Compress PNG — Reduce PNG File Size in Your Browser

This PNG compressor reduces PNG file size by quantizing the color palette, fully in your browser. PNG compression is lossless by default; this tool optionally trades a small amount of color fidelity for substantially smaller files.

PNG files are bigger than JPGs because PNG is lossless — every pixel is preserved exactly. For screenshots, UI mockups, and design assets, that fidelity matters; for sharing on chat or attaching to email, it usually does not. Reducing the palette to a smaller number of distinct colors keeps the PNG lossless against the new palette while shrinking the file.

Drop in one or more PNGs, choose a quality level (higher = more colors, lower = stronger compression), and the tool re-encodes locally. Output stays as PNG with full transparency support — no conversion to JPG, no white-background bake-in. The result panel shows the original vs. compressed size and percentage saved.

Multi-file batches return as a ZIP. For drawings, icons, screenshots, and flat-color graphics, palette reduction gives big savings with no visible quality loss. For photo-like content stored in PNG, switching to JPG or WebP usually saves more.
